History of WSA


The History of  WSA


The Academy of Agrobusiness was founded in 1996
(registered number 96 of July 24 1996)

On 5th 1996 Education and Agrobusiness Centre in Marianowo near Lomza got a permission to form the Academy of Agrobusiness in Lomza which was based in Marianowo near Lomza.


The first Agriculture students were admitted to the Academy for the winter semester of that year.



The statutes, curriculum and the composition of professors and academic teachers were approved on 24th of July 1996.

Prof. dr hab. Roman Engler became Rector of the Academy. Prof. dr hab. Mirosław Łaguna was elected as Vice - Rector of the Academy.

268 students began to study in our Academy on 1st of October 1996.

 

 

 



The Academy of Agrobusiness was based in Agricultural Colleges in Marianowo.

 

In 1997 The Academy of Agrobusiness received new building from the local authorities. It was the former Lomza Cotton Factory "Narew" office building.

 

 

 

 



Redecoration of this building had started.




 



 

 

The official opening of the new building took place in 1998. The Chairman of Academy, Roman Jagieliński, the President of Lomza, Jan Turkowski and Rector of Academy, Roman Engler cut the ribbon in the hall.

 

 

 



In 1998 we started full time Agriculture subject.

 

 

 



In 2000 we received a permission of the Ministry of National Education to start Computing Science studies.



 



The Academy of Agrobusiness started postgraduate studies:

Computer Science
Marketing and Management in Education

Nature Study
Arts
European Funds.





The school widened its own base. The former production workshop has been bought and now there is a modern auditorium for more than 250 people.

 

 

 

 



In August 2004 the Academy bought a detached house in Bawelniana Street for a hall of residence.


 

 



Today over 100 Academy students live there.
